My Approach to Helping

With close to 30 years in mental health, along with 20 in addiction I bring a very down-to-earth approach which has helped tons of clients over the years. None of that, "how do you feel about that", or "tell me more", kinda crap when you work with me. We're going to exchange ideas and useful information. I don't tell anyone what to do, nor how to go about their lives. I ask what I hope are the right questions that allow you to look at your own life and make those changes that you WANT to make. Then I will offer good advice which comes from all the years of experience plus my own challenges which I have had to face and you decide what to use for yourself, what to reject, and what to put away perhaps to use later.
Plus during these trying times I am offering a cut rate for those without insurance, or out of network. Ask me more when you call.
Regarding areas of ability to help, please ask. There are far too many on this site for me to list all of them. Please visit my website for more details.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

The research on the value of therapy is clear; the most valuable part of therapy is what is called the "therapeutic rapport". This is where you, as the client, feel that the therapist (hopefully me) understands you, is not judgmental, is present and truly cares. One of the many things that has helped me to be an exceptional therapist is that you will quickly learn that I relate to most of the challenges that I will help you with, in part, because of my own history. This is not a secret and something that has helped literally hundreds of clients over the years. They often tell me that this is what they value about most me as their therapist. I hope you find that the same applies for you as well.
