Yes, you CAN feel more confident and comfortable with yourself, more open and adaptable, and more resilient and resourceful in facing life's inevitable challenges. Think of your 'symptoms' as a message more than a problem; they are signals for you to pay attention to something inside, to stretch yourself emotionally, or to make some changes in the way you're living. Successful therapy will help you understand why you're struggling in the particular way you are, and will help you learn from it and grow as a result.
Do you want to feel supported without judgment and compassionately challenged to reach higher? Wouldn't it feel good to grow more self-possessed, and less afraid to take risks? Therapy can give you this. The process of uncovering and accepting how you came to be who and where you are today can be liberating... and life can be easier, richer and more satisfying.

More Info About My Practice

These are some personal biases which influence the work I do with people:
-Much of the suffering that people seek to heal in psychotherapy originates interpersonally, and can be relieved interpersonally
-Happier, stronger people are those who find the opportunity in crisis and difficulty... which is to say that often our problems, pain or symptoms are opportunities in disguise, and profound growth and vitality can be found through making use of these.
-Humility, humor and authenticity are great antidotes to suffering, and these are very present in my approach to therapy.
-Psychotherapy should not be an experience of an 'expert' treating a 'sick' patient; it should be an experience of two connected people - one in distress of some kind, and one tasked with using many years of training and experience to guide the process of understanding and alleviating that distress.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am a generalist, with particular experience and success in helping people with:
-Relationship Problems: Should I stay or go? We don't seem to want the same things anymore. He/She cheated; now what? Are we ready to get married? We never have sex anymore. He/She's been living a secret life! I'm not really close to anyone in my life. I've never had a 'real' relationship. My parents would disown me if they knew who I'm dating. I don't know how to be myself around people. I feel like I've lost myself in this relationship.
-Addiction, Recovery & Codependence
-Depression & Anxiety
-Separation & Divorce
-Moving beyond longstanding resentments, disappointments & self-sabotage
-Overcoming / dismantling sources of shame, and cultivating self-acceptance and confidence
-Finding / creating greater direction & meaning in life
