My Approach to Helping
Taz, the therapy dog, and I welcome teens and adults to our office.
Ask yourself... what are you willing to change? The choice to begin therapy can be a challenging one, and by taking this step, you're committing to your emotional well-being and to making improvements in your relationships with others. I use a respectful, non-judgmental approach in helping individuals find solutions to many of life's challenges, including: relationships, communication, anxiety, self worth, chronic pain, somatization, intimacy and sexuality.
Please note that I include a therapy dog in most of my sessions. Taz was rescued from Central Coast Pug Rescue in 2015. He became a registered therapy animal in 2016 and passes on his good fortune by helping others. A true gentle soul, Taz loves to cuddle and be pet.
More Info About My Practice
I offer in-person and remote telehealth sessions within the state of California. Telehealth, video or phone sessions, allow for easy accessibility and convenience for many folks. My standard fee for a 50-minute therapeutic hour is $245, which can be paid by cash or check.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am adept in helping people be open to experience more satisfying relationships and positive communication. I have been a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) for the past 12 years. I am Kink Aware and LGBTQ+ inclusive.
I also focus on chronic pain issues, chronic illness, and how emotional pain can increase (or even cause) physical symptoms.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Do some research, and give it a shot. Keep in mind that therapy is a process, and a good relationship with your therapist is essential. It is important to feel safe and comfortable with the person you choose. I offer free consultation with potential clients over the phone, and will continue to assess and check in during subsequent sessions to help determine if we are a good match.
