My Approach to Helping

Are you tired of seeing a therapist who just sits and nods? Or just asks you how you feel? Are you looking for someone who is more direct, involved, and will actually give you feedback? Hi! I am Cryssa and I have a different approach. I specialize in two areas - women who suffer from anxiety, and men who struggle with relationship issues (being in them, not being in them, not being able to show up in them)...More important than WHO I help, is HOW I work. My clients see me because they like my fresh approach. They want me to be an active participant in their therapy working alongside with them. I will never presume to know what is like to be you, but I will be right there with you, every step of the way.

More Info About My Practice

I always focus on the therapeutic relationship between my clients and myself because that is where I feel therapy happens and new, lived experiences develop.

I help my clients find meaning. I identify, address, and challenge "messed up" thinking. I explore the motivations behind certain behaviors, especially those that are causing problems in their lives, including self-doubt. Most importantly, I meet my clients where they are so that they can feel heard, seen, and connected. I believe that it is YOUR therapy, and that you can come and go as needed. Therapy doesn't have to be a death sentence!

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

My clients come to me because what they are doing isn't working. They need more support or a fresh perspective. They want to change but are struggling to make that happen. They feel stuck and don't know what to do. If you have great support and are able to make positive changes in your life, you probably don't need therapy. If the things you have tried aren't working, then therapy can be a tool to gain a greater perspective and understanding of yourself in a new way.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

It takes time to develop a therapeutic relationship, but there are a few things you can do to see if the relationship will be viable. First, I offer a free in person consultation to see if we would be a good fit. It is important to me that my clients are satisfied with the therapeutic process and I offer opportunities to discuss this. Every session we will discuss if we are on the right track and what we can do to shift if needed.

I meet my clients where they are and stand with them through their struggles, but I am direct. I will not beat around the bush. I always work in the direction set by my clients, but will not hesitate to give feedback, offer observations, and challenge old behaviors and thinking.
