My Approach to Helping
I believe that the crises and transitions we experience are often opportunities for growth and empowerment. They are signals to our souls that we have been presented with an opportunity for conscious evolution. Life is often challenging and painful, but my core belief is that we can, with support and guidance, transcend difficult events or transitions and come out on the other side to a place of clearer perspective and greater strength, awareness, and peace.
My goal as a therapist is to help you discover and define those things that hold you back from successfully navigating your life. We will work together collaboratively to help you recognize and change old habits, beliefs, and thought patterns. My approach is a practical one with an emphasis on helping clients move away from simply "telling their story" towards taking action to create meaningful change in their lives.
More Info About My Practice
I offer a free, 20 minute consultation, typically over the phone, to determine whether or not we are a good fit for one another. Each 50 minute session after this is $90. I do offer a sliding scale for clients with financial needs.
Please note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, I will use a HIPAA-compliant platform to conduct video sessions with all clients in order to continue to provide support during these challenging times.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I can help with anxiety, depression, feelings of poor self-worth and poor self-esteem, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, personal growth, and existential and spiritual concerns. I help my clients to become more mindful and aware of what may be driving problematic situations in their lives and then give them tools to help them make the changes they want to make.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Therapy can help one identify beliefs, assumptions, actions and reactions which may be unconscious and which tend to sabotage our efforts to live a happy and fulfilled life. It can reveal errors in thinking that create problems in our relationship with ourselves and others. It can provide a catalyst for positive change and growth while supporting clients as they navigate those changes. Psychotherapy can help to clarify the values and belief systems that inform our actions so that we live with integrity and authenticity.
