My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling alone? Do you regularly experience times of deep sadness or anxiety? If you face these challenges, your decision to seek professional mental health care shows that you want your life to be better. I will help you uncover any negative thoughts and feelings that may be preventing you from living your life to the fullest. I offer a warm, understanding setting where we can work together in your pursuit of long term healing and happiness.
Counseling for Adults, Teens, and Children:
Many people feel trapped in a destructive cycle of negative emotions and unwanted behaviors. However, I can provide the support you need to develop insight into your experiences and find practical solutions that work. By working together we can get you back on the path that honors your values and leads to your life goals. At present, I hold a Master's degree in professional counseling as well as a Master's degree in human services counseling with a focus on family and marriage.
My goal is to help you free yourself from the overwhelming pain of grief, trauma, anxiety, anger, and depression. I want you to regain control of your life. I can help you resolve lingering issues associated with neglect, abuse, or bullying during your childhood, or even the emotional turmoil of a romantic breakup. I provide a secure, comfortable space where we may safely address all your personal concerns. With effective therapy, you can find the mental clarity, health, and inner peace you deserve.
Young people tend to experience a range of physical, emotional, social, and academic challenges during their teenage years. Parental divorce, negative relationships, adverse mental conditions, and other unexpected trials may result in a teenager feeling overwhelmed, helpless, and alone. As your therapist I can provide the setting and guidance you need to deepen your understanding of self, reconnect with your parents, resolve your issues, and increase your quality of life.
As a Christian, I offer Christian counseling services to people of similar faith. However I also provide regular care for people of different religious backgrounds. If you are religiously inclined, I will ensure treatment is in line with your religious beliefs.
My therapeutic approach utilizes techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and art therapy. Our first meeting together will be a 50-minute intake session where we can get to know each other better and begin to form the therapeutic relationship. After this initial evaluation is completed, we will develop a customized treatment plan to help you overcome your specific issues and reach your personal goals.
