My Approach to Helping
I collaborate with clients to tailor therapy to the unique needs, life circumstances, and strengths of each individual. I work with older adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations from diverse backgrounds treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and stress-related to living with chronic medical conditions.
I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters personal growth to help you live out your values and achieve your goals. I have been fortunate to receive training and have experience utilizing several evidence-based therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
I have experience in a variety of settings including outpatient private practice, primary care, outpatient counseling clinic, medical centers, state prison, community health center, state hospital, high school counseling center, and inpatient private hospital. I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and faith traditions.
I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Arizona.
Personally, I enjoy playing tennis, listening to jazz, playing bass guitar, hiking, attending church activities, spending time with family, and stargazing the AZ night sky.
