My Approach to Helping
I believe that life is short and ideally we should all make the most of it. I think that sometimes we all think ourselves into a corner and we feel stuck. I really value being able to offer my clients a safe, supportive, comfortable space to allow them to take a step back from their everyday lives and work on making the changes they want to make. I work with my clients to figure out what they want, why it's not quite happening and what to do differently to get the results and changes they are looking for.
More Info About My Practice
As a therapist I'm quite practical and take a solution-focused approach. I want you to feel like you are getting value for money for coming to therapy and I want you to feel like you are making the progress you want to make. My style is very down-to-earth and I like to incorporate humor and fun into the process where appropriate. I am a straight talker, but I am gentle and kind. I like working with clients who are ready to put in effort and thought into therapy and I really enjoy learning from my clients and being part of them making the changes they want to make.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
I think the most important thing for you to really be honest with yourself about as you start therapy is whether you feel comfortable with your therapist. Do you want to talk to them? Do you feel like they get you and where you're coming from? Do you feel safe and not judged? You want to feel like you can be totally honest and to feel comfortable - obviously this does sometimes take time, but my advice is be honest with yourself and trust your instinct.
