I believe that children and people can identify their problems and resolve them when they have the opportunity to do so. Today's world makes it difficult for people to attend to one another in a meaningful manner. People need connection and understanding. When people are heard, accepted, and understood healing takes place. I strive to hear people, to be present to them, to genuinely accept them and care about them without judging them. This nurturing environment enables people to be themselves, to open up, and consider the possibility of change and growth.

More Info About My Practice

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, parents, families, couples, and individuals from a cognitive behavioral and experiential therapy perspective. When working with children ages 3-9 I utilize Play Therapy, the most effective form of treatment for young children. I provide parenting skills development to parents individually and in group settings. I provide family and couples therapy as a means of solidifying family relationships.

Children, adolescents, and adults develop various coping skills to manage life problems. One common path taken is that of using substances to manage fear, anxiety, depression, and stress. I work with those who struggle with addiction to understand the nature of addiction and learn more productive ways to manage emotions, stressors, and life.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy enables people to better know themselves and better understand their struggles. Naming the problem is the first step to change. Psychotherapy then helps people to process and work through the problem so they can heal and move on with their life. Psychotherapy is a growing process that helps people to strengthen themselves and continue to develop their being and life.
