Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
We do a lot of work with the LGBTQ+ population as well: general concerns, gender therapy, transition assistance/hRt letters as well as a support group that is offered monthly.
Couples counseling is another population in which we are skilled to work with. Our focus is strengthening the relationship by increasing effective communication, enhancing intimacy, working through lack of sex, infidelity and more!
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to hold the space for clients to present and be their authentic self. Our process is free of judgment, it is affirming and you receive quality services. The goal is to decrease the frequency and severity of your concerns and/or symptoms. I don't keep you dragging along. The goal is for you not to need me. The door will always be open, but getting you better is key!
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
It is important that you choose a therapist that has experience and/or specializes in what your concerns are.
Although we all receive schooling, our actual experience in working with certain populations and concerns differ. Choosing a therapist with additional training and certifications in your areas of need can increase your odds of receiving quality care.
The relationship between you and your therapist is the most important thing in this process. That trust and comfort are key. Choose a therapist you feel comfortable with and begin your journey today.
