My Approach to Helping
In order to meet life’s demands, we come up with all sorts of strategies; strategies for managing life externally and internally. As we grow and things change, these strategies can lose their effectiveness and their side effects begin feeling more and more burdensome. This can be a frustrating, confusing and alienating experience and is often the catalyst for new growth and deeper understanding of one's self and relationships.
Maybe you can name what’s prompting you to try therapy or maybe you can’t. Together we’ll make space for unpacking to begin, for you to be heard and to feel understood. I offer nonjudgmental presence and accepting curiosity as we work towards fuller expression and feelings of wholeness.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can help build resiliency and resolve by gaining deeper understanding and acceptance of all parts of one's self. It can also act as a staging ground for relationship, to try on new ways of relating, leading to greater confidence and an increased ability to be fully oneself in relationship. It can be a place to work through experiences, behaviors, feelings and ideas with an honesty that may otherwise feel unsafe without confidentiality and a trained listener. Therapy can be an empowering experience that gives one a greater sense of wholeness and ability to choose how to respond to the world around them.
