My Approach to Helping
It takes great courage to seek help. Embracing you are in need of assistance is a big step in a positive direction towards you making necessary changes in your life. You do not have to fight through every struggle on your own. You have the right to be here, you have the right to express your feelings, and you have the right to feel empowered within your life. Many of my clients report feeling immediate help within our first couple of sessions. You deserve quality individualized therapy, and this is what I will provide you.
I incorporate a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychosensory Therapy, and Clinical Hypnotherapy within my approach to your treatment. Within our first session, you will learn effective strategies you can use for the rest of your life. This is an investment for you, and my aim is to have you feeling it was well worth it.
Within our first session, you will learn effective strategies you can carry with you for the rest of your life. Self-soothing exercises remind us how we can stand up for ourselves, how we can fight for ourselves, and knowing this enables us to feel empowered within the world around us. You deserve to feel comfortable within your own skin.
More Info About My Practice
My clients who engage in Clinical Hypnotherapy have said they feel completely relaxed when our sessions end. This is a great thing, and you too will find hypnotherapy to be very enjoyable and consider it a positive way for you to explore more about you. Within these sessions, you will feel extremely relaxed, but you will still remain in control of yourself. There is nothing to fear within these sessions. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you to tap into hidden strengths and potential within you. Our lives can cause us to lose sight of our gifts and abilities, which can often be left behind when we are faced with traumatic events. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you with this, and it will help you to explore all the gifts offered within your unconscious mind.
Clinical Hypnotherapy can also help with eliminating addictions, improving self-esteem, improving relationships, work through and overcome phobias and fears, and it can help with negative thoughts and feelings associated with breakups, family dysfunction, or sudden changes in your life. My Clinical Hypnotherapy sessions are each designed to fit your needs. You may find immediate relief and experience immediate change within one session, but you will enjoy it so much you want to keep exploring further into your unconscious mind. There is often more to us than we know.
I also enjoy incorporating Psychosensory Modalities within my practice. Self Soothing exercises all us to show ourselves we can fight for ourselves, ground ourselves and soothe ourselves within our difficult times. You will learn at least one of these strategies within our first session. I find it to be very important for my clients to leave with new tools that can be used forever.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am passionate about helping men face their current issues while also helping them to feel comfortable working through what they have survived in their lives. Very often, men get overlooked as being the ones who need help, and this is often because they hide their wounds and stay silent. Boys get abused as often as girls do. Men experience struggles because of their childhood trauma as often as women do, and men are often less likely to talk about their story. If we hold onto what others have done to us, we are not only carrying the weight associated with our trauma, but we are carrying the lies that were passed on with it. We are not our trauma, we are not anger, we are not sadness or depression, and we are not what someone else chose to do to us. Whoever will hurt us can lie to us. I help to enable men to feel confident and empowered as they express their feelings, needs, and wants within our session.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
It takes great courage to seek help. For many, and maybe even you, this is not the first time you have tried to find a counselor who you feel can help you. You are the consumer, and you have the right to pick and choose who you would like to speak with. In your past, maybe your parents put you in counseling, and it did not go well. If this is the case, embrace how your past experience has made you much wiser about this process. Maybe, you have recently tried therapy, or are engaged in therapy now, but you were not or have not been happy about it. Therapy should be something you look forward to, once you begin the process, and if you feel it is time for a change, feel free to reach out and schedule a consultation with me. If you feel you are being judged or looked down upon, you have the right to move on, and moving on or setting boundaries is a key piece to our healing from what we have endured. I assure you that you will feel respected, heard, and encouraged within our sessions. I also admit I am not an enabler. My goal is to help you, and I do not want to waste your time. While I am not a cheerleader, I do serve as your partner, and you will feel as though I am aligned with you as you face everything you are facing in your life. I am passionate about what I do, and this will be clear within our first time speaking.
