My Approach to Helping
Hi, I'm Carrie Rimato, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in the Greater Houston area, including Katy, Texas. My professional journey began in education. I earned my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Houston Christian University (formerly HBU) and spent over a decade teaching in both public and private schools. My passion for helping others grow eventually led me to pursue a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from The King's University, which I completed in 2018.
Since then, I've worked with individuals, couples, and families across various settings, including private practice, hospitals, and crisis centers. I take an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and family systems theory to provide personalized care tailored to each person's unique needs and goals.
Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship issues, my goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported, empowered, and heard.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, watching a good movie, and traveling to any beach I can find, my favorite place to relax and recharge.
