My Approach to Helping
I’ve worked with many different people for 15 years. My clients come from a variety of cultural and personal backgrounds. Experience has taught me that positive life changes can emerge when a client has a positive, nonjudgmental, and empathetic relationship with a counselor they trust. This is especially true when clients struggle to seek help. I use a range of eclectic counseling techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered approaches, and solution-focused therapy to help clients see their obstacles and make their dreams a reality.
More Info About My Practice
In my career I’ve worked with clients in methadone maintenance who used individual and group counseling. While a therapist to these clients, I helped young people who sought the support of their parents and significant others. I have also worked in residential treatment programs for people coping with life’s difficulties, working to manage symptoms, and seeking to return to the community. This experience has helped me realize the importance of supportive environments and family systems in the journey to recovery.
