I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety and other disorders using various forms of counseling. My aim is to bring about positive changes in feelings, thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors, as you learn new ways to view and cope with problems or periods of life transitions. Counseling can also lead to personal growth as you develop insights about yourself, others and the events in your life. I take an integrative wellness approach to help clients achieve a desired work / life / self-care balance.

Life's challenges often times can almost seem unbearable and cause stress in our personal lives, our partner, or our families. Many times these situations can lead one to depression, anxiety, isolation, or health problems. My aim is to bring a healthy self, life, work, balance to clients.

More Info About My Practice

I hold a counseling degree in two areas from Barry University's Adrian Dominican School of Education (Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy), a master's degree from Keller Graduate School of Management (Business Administration focused on Project Management), and dual undergraduate degrees from Agnes Scott College (Psychology & Philosophy).

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Work, Life, Self-Care Balance issues and Stress from a Mindfulness perspective as well as a Brief Solution-Focused perspective. With a background in business, I often work with Young Urban Professionals who may be experiencing adjustment challenges to life changes such as transitioning from school to work, family of origin to independent living, or adjusting to the demands of a new profession or home life. Marriage, children, and employment changes usually tend to require additional focus and attention which prompts a re-balancing of responsibilities and expectations.

My Role as a Therapist

I see my role as a therapist as one of a supportive role. You have the lead role in the stage of your life and I am an acting coach who helps you to hone in your natural skills, talents, and personal tools which are unique to you. I can also be a confidant and a member of your support system who can honestly provide you with a place for brainstorming, feedback, and ways to think outside of the box in order to achieve the goals that you have set for yourself to reach an ideal state of being. I would love to offer you that support because one of my personal goals as a counselor is to have a career where I feel fulfilled in the service of others, in this case by helping you get unstuck and moving toward your own happiness.
