More Info About My Practice
I am providing solely telehealth or online video sessions at this time. What I have discovered about providing online therapy sessions, is that many prefer this to in-person sessions because they don't have to fight traffic to get to a session or hire a baby sitter, weather or parking is never an issue and they find that they are able to attend sessions with more consistency due to the convenience of being able to be anywhere. Some clients also prefer to be in the comfort of their own space with their pets around them while they speak with me. I am a very interactive therapist and like to give honest feedback if you want that. My role is to assist you in finding the root cause or source of your issue and to discover how it is keeping you from moving forward in your present life. Helping you to find, accept, and embrace your authentic self is also an important aspect of my work with you. Improving self-esteem and teaching empowerment, I will help you find your true voice and share it with others.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have a special place in my heart for teens and young adults who are struggling with issues of identity, self-esteem, or making the transition to or from college into the adult world.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I have always loved helping people for as long as I can remember. And as a young person, at age 13, I told my parents that I was unhappy, depressed, and didn't like myself. They were progressive enough to get me into therapy. It was from my own personal experiences of the therapeutic process that I discovered what distorted beliefs about myself were keeping me stuck and blocking my ability to really feel joy. I learned the value of being able to speak honestly with someone who was outside of my life and could be objective, as well as the experience of feeling safe and not judged for what I felt or who I was. It was from my own personal experiences of learning to trust a professional person who was trained in helping others, that I decided to embark on my own path of becoming a therapist. I love what I do because it is very rewarding to be able to help another person the way that I was helped as a young person in my own life.
