More Info About My Practice

I have extensive experience working with children and families, as well as individuals. I have been in the field for 10 years, and my work has focused on trauma/PTSD, prenatal/postpartum, mental health issues and behavioral issues. Anxiety, OCD, mood disorders (Bipolar, Depression), attachment/adoption, anger management and skill building are areas of treatment I specialize in.

I also specialize in maternal mental health (prenatal & postpartum support). I am focused on creating an environment for mom's that's supportive, nonjudgmental, and empowering.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a tool you can use to move forward in your life when feeling stuck. Whether that's being stuck in negative patterns of thoughts or behavior, or reacting instead of responding, therapy allows a person the opportunity to step back and take an assessment of what's been going on. Change is a process and it doesn't happen overnight. It can be hard and challenging at times, and other times can feel empowering and rewarding. Paramount to one's progress is a good fit between the therapist and client. A good therapist will learn to work with people in a way that fits them best, to know when to push you outside of your comfort zone and try new things, and when to guide you to challenge your views and reflect on your feelings and behavior. This allows you to assess how you got to where you are and how to move forward in an effective manner.
