My Approach to Helping
I approach people with an open mind and nonjudgmental attitude. I understand that each person is an individual and has inherent strengths and areas of challenge, and with the right guidance positive change can occur. I am mindful to always work on improving my own skills so I can continue to grow and be better for those whom I have the privilege of working with.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a tool you can use to move forward in your life when feeling stuck. Whether that's being stuck in negative patterns of thoughts or behavior, or reacting instead of responding, therapy allows a person the opportunity to step back and take an assessment of what's been going on. Change is a process and it doesn't happen overnight. It can be hard and challenging at times, and other times can feel empowering and rewarding. Paramount to one's progress is a good fit between the therapist and client. A good therapist will learn to work with people in a way that fits them best, to know when to push you outside of your comfort zone and try new things, and when to guide you to challenge your views and reflect on your feelings and behavior. This allows you to assess how you got to where you are and how to move forward in an effective manner.
