My Approach to Helping
My goal as a therapist and life coach is to help individuals get through their stressors and challenges and do so in a realistic way. Time and time again I have heard people say that what they learn in therapy sounds great in theory, but they can never seem to get the skills to work in their day-to-day lives. By way of a down to earth and practical approach, my clients can expect to learn skills and tools that actually work in the real world as well as gain further insight into their particular set of hindrances. I pride myself as being a person first and a therapist second; meaning I focus very hard on not only maintaining a professional approach but also being a real person and not a therapeutic robot when working with clients.
More Info About My Practice
I assist my clients in realizing forgotten strengths and evaluating their personal 'toolboxes' or set of qualities and skills they have relied on to overcome previous obstacles. Once toolboxes have been assessed then not only can we see what still works, but more importantly what has stopped working and needs to be replaced with new skills. I am determined and committed to helping people push through and reach their preferred versions of themselves.
My Therapy Focus
Life is hectic, uncertain, and sometimes unbelievably difficult. Many of us have things in our lives that hinder us or limit us from living the kind of lives we want and deserve. Simply put, we all have 'monsters' that we have to battle but at times find ourselves paralyzed and unable to overcome them.
At the end of the day, I do my absolute best to make sure each and every one of my clients walk away from our sessions feeling understood, validated, and empowered. I firmly believe we all naturally possess the will and ability to face our monsters head-on. My job is not to tell you how to be resilient but rather aid you in becoming better equipped to face your monsters head on and do so with integrity and confidence.
