My Approach to Helping
I have over 7 years of Direct-Client Contact with patients in providing psychotherapy, mental health counseling, and mental health screening programs, both internationally and in Canada, providing therapy in both English and Spanish. I have worked in multiple clinical settings and hospitals working closely with psychiatrists and other practitioners. My experience is ample and broad to work with a variety of mental illnesses have been exposed to a variety of learning scenarios at an international level and locally, that have shaped me as a diversity-driven, individualized therapist. The goals and needs of each client are tailored and individual to each person. An ideal client would be someone who is willing to put in the work to take a step towards change. Yet, you may not be ready for change; I'm here to help you get there too one step at a time. I want to help clients achieve their mental health goals through empowerment, awareness, acceptance, and healing, with the use of scientifically-based techniques that have been proven to be highly effective. You'll acquire the necessary tools and techniques to achieve your goals in psychotherapy which is necessary to achieve a more holistic approach to overall wellness (mind, body, and soul). I focus on my client’s strengths and provide guidance to tackle any mental distress or maladaptive coping strategies they have in place to establish more adaptive ones, ultimately achieving an optimized level of health. As a Registered Psychotherapist and University of Toronto Master's program, I was trained to confront multiple psychopathologies, from a culturally sensitive and bilingual (English and Spanish) standpoint, in its majority using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy given its proven efficacy. My experience stems from providing counseling internationally and in Canada in clinical settings.
