My Approach to Helping
Through psychotherapy, every person has the capacity to grow and change and live the life they've always imagined. I can help you recognize and alter patterns in your life, develop new skills to enhance your relationships with family, friends, and partners, and move toward greater joy and personal fulfillment. Many people decide to seek individual therapy after some sort of crisis: a break-up, career change, or loss of a loved one. Others are looking for relief from depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. Individual psychotherapy can help with all of these issues. I work with people who are seeking change in their life. Perhaps you've wondered, "Why do I keep making the same mistakes over and over again?" Psychotherapy can help answer that and many other questions and put you on the path toward greater acceptance of yourself and others.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Choosing a therapist is more of an art than a science. It is critical that you feel the therapist is empathic, caring, non-judgmental, and emotionally present. Although you can't necessarily tell whether the therapist is a "good fit" from the first session, after 2-3 sessions, you should be able to gage whether you feel emotionally safe enough to share your innermost thoughts and feelings. I believe that I am extremely accepting of my patients and do not judge them or their behavior. I simply seek (with their help) to understand those behaviors and make them more conscious than they had been previously.
