My Approach to Helping
Too many racing thoughts and not enough time in a day for those thoughts? Need a place to just be yourself, free from judgment? Welcome to my safe place. My therapy dog, Gunner, and I work to provide a safe and tranquil environment by utilizing mindfulness practices. I provide clients and their families with the tools to overcome many day to day obstacles to include stress and anxiety, depression, body image concerns, life transitions and trauma. I employ a dialectical behavior therapy approach, which challenges individuals and their support systems to step outside of their comfort zones and take a giant leap towards change!
I have post-masters degree training in the following, though it is not an exhaustive list. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask: Dialectic Behavior Therapy(DBT) certified, Foster Care and Adoptions, Trauma Informed Care, LGBTQ+ and Mindfulness Training
I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Bowie State University, followed by my Masters of Social Work, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health, from the University of Maryland. Ready to take that leap towards change? Can\'t wait to hear from you!
