My Approach to Helping
I am a strong believer in the collaborative process. Together we will work as a team to come up with goals to better achieve mental wellness. When it comes to my counseling philosophy, I am an eclectic therapist, I believe that not all therapies or theoretical practices work for everyone. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior, but each theoretical perspective that is utilized depends on the circumstances of each client. Meeting a client where they are at, instead of trying to change who they are is key. Recognizing a client's strengths and continuing to bring out the best in your client is something that I value.
All of my clients come first, and my goal is to build a trustworthy rapport in order to understand each of my client's, triggers, struggles, needs and wants. The most important goal to me is to empower, and encourage my clients and to ensure each of them that they are not alone.
During my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love to cook and sing in my church choir.
