My Approach to Helping

Our approach to healing incorporates play therapy, family therapy, and neuroscience. This means that we strive to help you understand the meaning behind your child's behavior, the impact on your parent-child relationship and the influence on your child's developing brain. We wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of play and see secure relationships as the foundation of the healing process.

It is our goal to help families heal so they can come to a place of long-lasting change. We help families get beyond their child's behavior to what is underneath. From here parents are able to understand their children in a deeper way. Children and families are able to heal, learn healthy ways to communicate and achieve the family life they have always desired.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Supporting children and parents together in the healing process. I have training in a variety of play therapy modalities, EMDR (the most effective treatment for trauma) as well as training in relationship-based therapy (Emotionally Focused Therapy). This unique combination of training provides me an extensive toolbox to help children and their families with complex and challenging issues. I specifically specialize in complex trauma and improving attachment relationships. I believe that relationships are the heartbeat of life and play is the language of children. I combine these to fundamental needs to help children and their families on their journey towards healing and gaining the tools necessary to effectively navigate life.
