My Approach to Helping
For those of you that are having a particularly difficult time in this stage of your life, I understand that depression, anxiety, stress, and even unexpected change can be overwhelming or even debilitating. Change can be difficult and scary at times. With guidance through the therapeutic process, you can overcome these challenges. By creating a safe, comfortable space for you, I am able to provide support and feedback in a caring environment. It is my goal to help you learn skills and tools to better manage your symptoms.
Calming Corner Therapy's expertise is working with children, adolescents, and young adults (35 and younger) suffering from anxiety and depression. When working with this population, we find it most important to build rapport and trust in the initial phase of therapy. We utilize aspects of art therapy along with play therapy. CCT will work with your client’s parents and their support systems, such as their school social worker or counselor. Our goal is to provide support at home, in therapy, and at school.
Calming Corner Therapy utilizes evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the first-line approach to effectively decreasing symptoms of Depression and Anxiety. CCT also believes in being solution-focused, where you actively decide on goals that you would like to achieve. Together we can explore these different approaches and find the right combination that works for YOU!
