My Approach to Helping
I know how difficult it can be to make the informed decision to start therapy. Even the idea of unpacking our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and emotions can feel overwhelming and intimidating. Your bravery and commitment to facing your personal hardships and improving your overall quality of life is the first of many victories that you will experience in our time together.
Our sessions will embody curiosity, warmth, empowerment, and benevolence and be free of any judgement or stigma. Whether you are suffering with anxiety and depression, undergoing distressing life transitions, struggling with self-esteem, facing relationship issues or looking to understand your past to make sense of your present, I will collaborate with you to overcome your obstacles and pursue your goals.
Drawing from the psychodynamic and relational models, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness therapy to create a holistic, integrative approach to our work. Working in an inpatient unit with psychiatrically acute adolescents and providing individual psychotherapy to young adults at Resilience Lab has solidified my commitment to providing you with an approach that is uniquely tailored to supporting your needs.
