My Approach to Helping
Anxiety can be tricky and complicated to address on our own. Breathing techniques, exercise, meditation, self-help books can bring temporary relief, and sometimes they don't even work at all. Therapy can help you learn practical ways to increase your tolerance for uncertainty, get out of worry spirals, and move you out of your head and into the activities and projects you enjoy.
Anxiety is treatable. Many clinicians focus on analyzing a client's past in an attempt to resolve anxiety, my training has taught me this is like trying to put out a fire by finding how the fire started. I address anxiety directly and find practical solutions to help change clients' relationships with it and find tools that lessen its hold on their lives.
My experience has taught me that we all have different stories, but at the core, we all struggle with the same issues just to varying degrees. Acceptance, respect, and confidentiality are at the core of my work. I look forward to working with you.
