My Approach to Helping

At Upswing, we focus on connecting with kids and impacting families. We recognize the importance of a child’s developmental age in therapy–communicating with kids in a language they understand makes a huge difference in treatment results. Our team works hard to stay at the forefront of family therapy research and counseling techniques. We tend to view kids within the context of a larger family system, and desire to have a positive impact on the whole family.

We make use of all sorts of approaches to creatively connect with your family and kids. Such approaches often involve various forms of play therapy, expressive therapies, "No Talk" therapy, Theraplay®, costumes and puppets, sand tray, digital sand tray, exploring personal interests with teens, music, and games, and even foosball. But whatever our methods, we are intentional about making therapy engaging, safe and impactful.

We also provide online scheduling and the ability to fill out our forms online or in person. We also submit all insurance claims on your behalf.
