My Approach to Helping
Choosing the right therapist is difficult. Most of us don\'t know what all of those letters after their names mean and, even if we do, a degree or license doesn\'t really tell you much about the person that you will end up sharing some pretty personal stuff with. Then we start looking at their areas of practice, specialties and populations treated...more confusion.
If everyone specializes in anxiety, depression or relationship issues, is it truly special? If everyone says they work with the LGBTQ+ population, then why is it sometime so difficult for us to make a real connection with our therapists? More often than not, we choose the therapist whose picture makes makes us feel somewhat comfortable and hope for the best.
I know that routine. I\'ve done that routine. And it doesn\'t have to be like that.
By providing supportive, focused and relevant counseling to the queer community, I believe that you will begin to make positive changes that will lead to the life that you want for yourself.
