My Approach to Helping
Did You know that therapy is Your gift to Yourself? And that You’re worth it? How often have you wished you could talk to somebody who would be objective, confidential and non-judgmental but also warm, sincere and encouraging? Someone who gives You hope but also helps You seek truth – the Truth that sets You free.
As a licensed psychotherapist with a lot of experience, I want you to know that there is always Hope . . . Hope for: your marriage; your personal life; your family; your depression or your anxiety; your fear; your anger; your loneliness; your heartbreak; your regrets or your deepest hurts.
Often we carry these feelings throughout our lives, never understanding where they came from or why they show up when we are involved in meaningful relationships. Then we say: “Where did all this come from?” “Why do my relationships always end up the same?” “What’s wrong with me?”
Sometimes therapy equips you with healthy coping skills such as improved communication or better relationship skills; many people work on improving their self-esteem. Many clients come to therapy saying: “I’ve lost myself,” or “I don’t know who I am.” Today we see so many hurting people; some are dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, fear, griefloss, family problems, marital issues including infidelity, or stress. We are all stressed just from our daily lives!
So, what is the answer for You? If your life has become overwhelming, I can help. I offer 22 years of professional therapy practice plus many years of life experiences with many ups-and-downs. Some of the most important learning experiences in my personal life have made me be a better therapist today.
I realize that no two people are the same; thus, I tailor Your therapy to meet Your specific needs and goals, using an eclectic selection of techniques and therapies to help You recognize Your strengths, Your worth and Your abilities. I offer Christian counseling to those who are interested in including that aspect of their lives in our work.
I work with adults, both individuals and couples; I also offer group therapy several times each year. I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, women’s issues, anger, maritalcouplespre-marital counseling, relationship skills, boundaries, Internal Family Systems (IFS, Parts Therapy, Inner-Child Healing work) and divorcedivorce recovery. I also am certified or have special training in the following: PTSDTrauma, and Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Sexual Abuse.
I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome, and I look forward to your call soon.
