My Approach to Helping
An experienced counselor of over 20 years, I most often work with people, on an individual basis, who are experiencing struggles with anxiety, depression, communication, or making their relationships work. I use a combination of change and acceptance techniques to facilitate symptom relief, behavioral changes and clarity in a supportive and nonjudgmental setting.
The range of what people need during times of difficulty varies significantly. Some benefit from having an objective viewpoint on a problem, while others find it helpful to focus on implementing coping tools. Additionally, I also see people who want to explore what their symptoms are communicating about their "depths".
My orientation is based in EMDR, DBT, mindfulness and Depth Psychology approaches.
