My Approach to Helping
I have been a practicing therapist for the last 8 years of my life…My approach to mental health can be summed up as holistic and eclectic. Just as people are complex, varied and unique, so should the therapeutic experience be. Relying on a myopic one-for-all school of therapy exclusively can be limiting if not damaging at times. I advocate a biopsychosocial approach that examines the physical, psychological and social aspect for a better understanding of the self and group dynamic. I’m trained in EMDR, psychoanalysis, IPT and CBT. I have had the experience of working with a variety clients on the whole psychological spectrum; Depressiveanxious, SGBV, substance abuse, trauma and stress, personality disorders, psychosomatic disorders etc.
