My Approach to Helping
I understand the decision to reach out for counseling takes a lot of courage and inner strength. I want to support you in developing strengths and abilities in a safe, calm, and supportive environment. My office is a place where you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, and desires without judgment. I collaborate with you to identify your needs and to plan for your future. I respect your unique perspectives.
I use mindfulness tools to empower freedom of choice. Those tools can dramatically change how the daily stress of confusion, loss, anger, grief, and fear are experienced. Mindfulness promotes relaxation and calm improving resilience and creativity in problem-solving. It invites the healing properties of acceptance and compassion. I work with people who struggle with anxiety and depression, grief, health difficulties, trauma, and life transitions of all kinds. I would love to work with you in finding your path forward in life.
My counseling experience entails strengths based, trauma informed, and person-centered work. I have 25+ years experience in the mental health counseling field. I have a cognitive behavioral approach and employ mindfulness and emotional inquiry through self-exploration.
