My Approach to Helping

Good mental health is a precious commodity! It is also essential if you're to have a fair shot at living a fulfilling and satisfying life. The kind of life, I believe, is every human being's natural birthright. If you have been feeling too sad for too long, too fearful to experience all life has to offer, too much shame and guilt over behaviors too difficult to stop on your own, please reach out and call me. The kind of psychotherapy I provide is collaborative, interactive; timed & tailored to your specific needs. It can be a powerful tool for healing old traumas, negative core-self beliefs, and problematic behaviors. The kind that might have been holding you back in life, in your career and in your relationships of the present day. In addition to my general practice, I also offer specialized treatment and expertise for people struggling with Sex & Love Addiction, (including compulsive internet activity), sexual inhibition, substance abuse and other troubling behaviors. Have you recently discovered that your partner has been sexually compulsive outside your committed relationship? You have experienced a disorienting trauma--a rupture in your perception of what you thought was your reality. But there is hope! Psychotherapy can help you regain your emotional "footing" and improve upon your existing and future relationships, including the most important one of all--the relationship you have with yourself!

More Info About My Practice

Drawing upon a solid foundation of postgraduate psychoanalytic education & clinical training, along with nearly 25 years of treatment experience, I feel truly privileged to "join" with my patients on their individualized paths of therapy and recovery. I use an eclectic approach--combining an interactive, psychodynamic orientation with cognitive-behavioral, EMDR, 12-Step recovery and Inner Child work. I welcome, and am very comfortable, helping people from diverse backgrounds: racial & religious, sexual orientations & gender identities, young adults new to the work force, or older adults in mid or late careers. I also work successfully with people from a wide range of professional fields, including those in the creative & performing arts.
