My Approach to Helping
Therapy is an opportunity to explore life difficulties, internal experiences, relationships as well as life transitions in a safe and supportive environment that facilitates growth and self awareness. What is paramount in this is the relationship and fit between a therapist and a client. Developing a warm, open and empathic environment is a major goal in my work as a psychotherapist. Change happens most easily when you feel safe and accepted - out of that, a deeper understanding of yourself can develop.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have worked extensively with young adults who are negotiating their transition to adulthood, as well as with the parents who love and support them while trying to support their autonomy. In general, I've been able to help parents who are struggling to find their way in their role - whether new parents, mothers who are home or deciding to return to work or parents of adolescents. I also can be helpful to people who are dealing with other transitions - ends of relationships, other losses, job changes.
