My Approach to Helping
I work from a systemic perspective, so I believe that our relationships with those around us affect us greatly. I work with individuals, couples and families using various different techniques to help break cycles of pain and trauma. I have experience working with clients presenting with a variety of different challenges, such as: anxiety, depression, domestic violence, sexual assault, family life cycle issues and more. A special interest of mine is working with immigrants, people of color, and marginalized populations. As an Arabic-speaking therapist, I have successfully worked with many Arab-American families as well.
I do my best to create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore, not only your pain, but also your strengths and how to use these strengths to start your journey of healing. I don't believe therapists should be called shrinks, because my goal will not be to shrink your mind, but to expand your awareness, widen your perspective and help you live a fuller life.
Maybe you need a little help reaching your full potential or finding a life that makes you happy. Maybe you’re struggling to communicate with your partner, are overwhelmed with parenting your children or need help sustaining emotional connections. We’ve all needed help once or twice. Or many times! And that is my main goal - to help you help yourself.
