My Approach to Helping
I have been a NC board-certified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor for 12 years. In addition, I am a NC-certified professional school counselor. As a therapist, I specialize in bipolar depression, racial trauma, anxiety, trauma, women’s issues, relationship issues, and other issues that people face each day. Although I use evidence-based measures, I believe in providing personalized behavioral health services. It is my aim to strengthen our therapeutic relationship through person-centered and psychodynamic therapy. I use cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies. However, I use modalities that are the best fit for the clinician. I work hard to be the therapist I would want to have. This means I actively listen with respect, professional knowledge, examples, and a lot of humor! I do not believe that therapy has to always focus on sad events. I believe progressing in therapy takes a great deal of commitment. However, I believe getting to know yourself better and learning new life skills can be fun. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you.
