My Approach to Helping
I believe counseling is a collaborative process. In our work together, I will help you identify challenges and develop tools with which to overcome them. This process will also include identifying your strengths and resources and building on them.
More Info About My Practice
I see clients who are struggling with a wide variety of concerns, including communication difficulties, relationship conflict, infidelity, and anxiety. In addition to ongoing counseling, I also offer a series of sessions focused on helping couples prepare for a commitment (e.g., moving in together, getting married). This is for couples only and can be a stand-alone experience or a bridge to ongoing work.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
I provide a 30-minute consultation to all prospective clients at no charge. This is an opportunity for us to meet, ask questions, and explore preliminary goals prior to making a commitment to counseling. If we decide to work together, my hourly fee during the day is $80.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
During the process of counseling, one of my goals is to identify "the dance" between you and your partner. Most challenges don't exist in a vacuum, but get played out in a unique way given what your partner/spouse evokes in you and how your partner reacts to you (and visa versa). Identifying your relationship's unique dance helps me determine which tools to use to help you create change.
