My Approach to Helping
Our problems can have us ignoring or forgetting how capable we are - and how full of possibility. So often we blame ourselves for the difficulties of life, doubling down on the suffering and making it harder to do or think or feel our way to something better. I tend to think our desire for change is persuasive evidence of our potential to change. Perhaps somewhere in us, we hold an awareness that the things we need - things like resilience, strengths, flexibility, openness - have been with us all along. My goal is to collaborate with you, to give voice to that person in you who already knows how to thrive. My hope is that our conversations, and the healing power of human connection, will help you live the life you want most to live.
More Info About My Practice
After a career as a TV producer and writer, I appreciate the power of stories. Sometimes the stories we tell ourselves support the lives we most want to live - and sometimes they don't. I work to help people dismantle the narratives that keep them in a narrow and trapped idea of themselves, and write new stories that create room for compassion and change.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My practice is informed by the ideas of Narrative therapy, and the intersection of Buddhism and psychology. I care about taking an approach that doesn't pathologize clients. I am especially drawn to issues surrounding the entertainment industry, including producing/writing/performing, as well as adolescence, and modern dating. I offer weekend, evening, and day sessions.
