My Approach to Helping
I feel it is a privilege and honor to work with people and share in their journey. It takes bravery and courage to face ones past and current struggles. Therapy provides a safe place to explore your history and examine the impact of your experiences on your thinking, feelings, relationships, and behaviors. I can provide a judgement free and confidential space for you to process and find support to help you move forward in identifying what you need to get back to a healthy balanced life. I believe that therapy builds empowerment, resiliency, supports vulnerability, and helps build a connection to one\'s inner self. I am excited to help others begin this process and would love to share in this journey with you.
I can offer my clients healing through a positive corrective emotional experience while meeting them where they are in the healing process. I feel that the healing process is part of a larger system; the system as a whole needs to change in order for you to achieve maximum healing benefit.
More Info About My Practice
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I enjoy working with clients that are going through major life transitions such as transitioning from youth to adulthood, from young adulthood into settling down into major life decisions such as starting a family, buying a house, starting a career, etc. I also enjoy working with people and their families that have been impacted by somebody who has been in the correctional system. I desire to help clients navigate these major stressors in life while maintaining healthy coping skills and overall healthy life balance.
I have a soft spot for tweens and teens. They often struggle with the transition from wanting to be a kid but also wanting to grow into adulthood and the many fears that come with that. They also often do not know how to express their fears in a healthy verbal way; it often comes out in behaviors such as defiance, anger, aggression, and disrespect. I enjoy working with them and their family to increase healthy communication, to help both the teen and family understand what is happening for the child at this pivotal point in life, and how the parent can support the child through this time.
I work with the LGBT community and find joy in helping them find themselves however this looks like for them. Does this mean having the courage to be authentic and true to who they are? I want to help them navigate how to shine bright in the still somewhat scary and unsafe world we live in. I find it important and fulfilling when working with the LBGT community in helping them find the support and resources they need. Most importantly, I want them to know they are not alone.
My ideal clients are wanting to work towards a healthy happier life and want to present a more authentic self in life. I don\'t take this opportunity for granted and love the work that I do so that others are able to live happier and healthier lives.
