My Approach to Helping
People usually come to me when they are in a high-emotions season of life. Often, this looks like changes in your relationships or career, grief and loss, or unexpected transition periods in your life. In this age of uncertainty, it’s especially true that high levels of emotional volatility can happen at any time. Regardless of your circumstances, it helps tremendously to have a dedicated time and space to vent and process those feelings with an unbiased professional.
I offer a safe and open-minded environment so you feel welcome and comfortable. I utilize a client-focused approach and strongly feel that is it imperative to focus on your immediate symptoms and concerns. I’ll encourage you to be who you are and reassure you that you do not need to censor your problems, emotions, and needs.
I am creative and considerate when formulating your treatment plan and am always open to hearing feedback from you. Being open to feedback allows me to better assist you by identifying your likes, dislikes, and comfort level. I utilize a variety of modalities and interventions in my treatment plans, including (but not limited to) bibliotherapy, mental-health- focused podcasts, clinical worksheets, journaling, and art-therapy-inspired techniques. I make a great effort to customize according to what works best for you.
I enjoy working with patients ages 10 and up, providing assessments and therapy to individuals and families. I am absolutely committed to maintaining a positive rapport throughout the treatment process by establishing an understanding of what you’re looking for in a therapist as well as what you hope to get out of therapy, and then checking back in on those goals and hopes regularly, providing space for you to comfortably give me with the necessary feedback to help us keep moving forward in our work together.
I offer online therapy/online counseling using a HIPAA-compliant platform called Zoom for all consultations and therapy sessions. Please call me today to discuss how we might work together. I look forward to answering any questions that you may have at this time. For additional information and resources, please visit my website.
