My Approach to Helping
Ashley's warmth and easygoing personality make clear the reasons both children and adults feel at ease with her therapy style. She's an experienced and enthusiastic therapist who enjoys working with clients of all ages and has a specialty in child therapy. Ashley has extensive specialized training which forms the foundation of her aptitude for working with young clients from infancy to age 5. In addition to individuals, Ashley sees families and couples for therapy.
Ashley is well-equipped to treat a broad range of childhood diagnoses and concerns but is especially passionate about working with clients diagnosed with autism spectrum, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and other attention difficulties, behavioral concerns, and relational or social difficulties. She is trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), both of which are powerful healing modalities for children and teens who have experienced trauma. She believes connecting with parents or other caregivers is important for the progress of child clients, and seeks to involve them whenever possible.
Ashley's skill for family work naturally lends itself to couples therapy. And when she's not working with children, families, or couples, she greatly values the opportunity to meet one-on-one with adult clients and cherishes the unique space and opportunity for the connection she can provide in an individual setting.
It is of utmost importance to Ashley that each client finds the therapist that feels like the right fit for them and their unique needs. If you think Ashley may be a good fit for you or your child, please reach out for an appointment or consultation to explore what may be possible.
