My Approach to Helping

Each person has a unique story. Sometimes that story includes unexpected journeys, disappointments, and pain.

But we do not have to stay there. I believe in reclaiming stories, gaining control in what feels like chaos, and finding redemption.

I do NOT believe in "just getting by."

I believe in thriving by using adversities to decide who we want to become.

More Info About My Practice

I work with couples because I believe a strong marriage is the foundation for a strong family and a healthy society. I work with individuals because I believe each person has something unique to offer the world and sometimes we just get stuck. I work with adolescents because I believe that the ideas established during those formative years will guide the rest of their lives.

I am a Christian counselor who integrates research-proven effective counseling methods with Biblical truth. I work mostly from a cognitive behavioral framework but enjoy incorporating creative methods such as art therapy into my sessions. Stonebriar Counseling Associates is located in both Plano and Frisco, Texas.

While I not take insurance, I am happy to provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for a potential refund.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have done a lot of work with manifested anxiety and depression due to some type of loss or family of origin issues.

I also have worked with couples who are dealing with conflict, communication issues, or infidelity.

I also have worked with missionaries, TCK's, or cross-cultural workers who are experiencing all the same difficulties as those state-side but without the same support OR those who have recently returned to the states and are adjusting to life here in America.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

While it is the goal of a counselor to not be needed, I love being able to meet with people. It is such a privilege for me to be able to listen to people's stories. I love watching as my clients heal from past hurts, gain victory over their circumstances and learn to have joy and fulfillment in their lives.
