My Approach to Helping
Fear, regret, and hopelessness can be paralyzing. These feelings can hold us back from becoming our best selves, disrupt our social lives, and cause us to feel isolated. Regardless of the cause, negative emotions can grab hold and pull us into a place we don't want to be. Life can begin to weigh heavily on our shoulders, and pulling ourselves out of a dark place might start to seem impossible. We all have our battles, and it’s ok to get help in fighting them.
I utilize a person-centered and trauma informed approach, meeting the individual where they are and being mindful of how past traumas may play a role in present issues. In my experience, learning and understanding past experiences can often provide monumental insight into current issues, allowing us to better navigate our world in the future. I also heavily rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, so we may work collaboratively to identify and challenge negative thinking patterns, while developing objective, reality-based thoughts. By tuning into our thoughts, we can learn to catch ourselves before an emotion takes over.
You don't have to continue struggling. It's possible to heal, move forward, and feel content. Now is the perfect time to begin that journey, and I’m here to guide you along the way.
