My Approach to Helping
Connection, Respect, Understanding, Integrity. These four principles are the foundation of who I am as a therapist and a person.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, practicing in Redding, CA. I attended San Francisco State University, where I obtained a Master’s Degree in 2005 in Rehabilitation Counseling with specializations in Gerontology and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Counseling. I began my career as a mental health counselor working for people with disabilities and did my clinical training at UCSF in the Center on Deafness where I worked for over nine years. I also spent several years working for Alameda County Children’s Specialized Services and Deaf Community Counseling Services. I know American Sign Language and loved the years that I worked in the Deaf Community.
In 2019, I transitioned to general therapy practice, and currently work with children and adults from diverse backgrounds and abilities. I continue to facilitate Intensive Outpatient groups at the Psychiatric Care Center where I have been privileged to work since 2019. I am most proud of the work that I do to help people recover from trauma, anxietyOCD, schizophrenia, and codependency. I utilize an array of treatment modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Brainspotting, and Mindfulness Based Therapy approaches. One of my favorite things about my job is providing psychoeducation from various authors and research to help normalize and increase understandingawareness of what my clients experience. I am passionate about providing quality care and compassion to all of my clients.
I am a Bay Area native but have lived in the Redding area since 2019. I am looking forward to hearing your story and working together to help you recover and heal.
