My Approach to Helping
It takes courage to recognize when you need help. I am here to help you take the steps necessary to live a more fulfilling life, one that is true to your authentic self, by creating a judgment-free environment that is supportive and welcoming to all walks of life. Our mental health affects not only how we feel, but also how we think and act. There is a deeper connection between mental and physical health, and together, we can explore how this connection impacts you. Through gaining this greater understanding of oneself, our overall well-being is improved. We are better able to develop and maintain meaningful relationships, understand why we feel certain emotions, and make decisions that fall in line with our values. We become resilient and find ways to cope with stress in more beneficial ways. When challenges in life seem to become unmanageable, it can be helpful to share our experiences with a warm, empathic listener whose sole interest is to help us create lasting change in our lives.
I provide an open space to talk about stressors, work collaboratively with you on creating goals, and offer feedback and new skills to reach those goals. My integrative style of therapy focuses on interpersonal, insight-oriented, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) approaches. This allows us to develop a supportive, trusting relationship, delve into how past experiences are affecting current problems, and incorporate different skills and evidence-based practices into our sessions. I believe our work together can help you feel empowered and validated, alleviating some of the stress and emotional pain you are facing.
I find my passion lies in working with individuals who are motivated for change and growth. I enjoy helping those who seek support with mood and anxiety challenges, trauma, maternal mental health, relationship and couples difficulties, personality issues, and grief and loss.
