My Approach to Helping
My mission is to help children, adolescents, and adults to achieve Joy and Success in their life. I have 18 years of experience that has been focused on children and families. The primary focus has been addressing behavior and regulating emotions. I utilize techniques consistent with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychotherapy when treating anxiety, anger, social skills problems, bullying, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), school issues, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, phobias, sleeping/toileting problems, divorce/separation, and other behavioral problems.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
In my extensive work with children and families, I have also acquired strategies and techniques which I use in counseling that are successful and effective in providing support and direction during natural development and/or transition. Transitions alter your life; at times you can adjust with minimal effort while at other times you may find yourself protesting, unable to accept the changes that have come your way. You may feel overwhelmed, stressed, disillusioned, or angry. You may become stressed, anxious or depressed. Whether it be natural development from one stage of life to the next (example child to adolescent), or change caused by a job, move, death, birth, illness or divorce (example married to single). Transition is difficult but can be easier and you can overcome it with my help and support.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I provide Individual, Tele mental health, couples, family, and group therapy to treat your individual circumstance or difficulty. In addition to my education and extensive experience, I am a licensed counselor who is also trained in stress management and Mindful Meditation.
