My Approach to Helping

Hey there! Thanks for considering giving me a chance as your counselor!

I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida. I am being supervised by two qualified supervisors to ensure I am providing the best quality of care.

My practice is called IncrediblyMe Counseling because I believe everyone has something that makes them truly incredible and I would be honored to join you in that journey of discovering what that is. I work with a broad spectrum of mental health issues. From depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, familial issues, etc.

Just like I believe everyone has something that makes them incredible, I also recognize that not everyone responds to the same forms of therapy. That is why I like to highlight the interests of my clients and integrate creative forms of therapy to allow them to express themselves in ways that they feel more comfortable. Whether it's talk therapy, art therapy, music therapy, etc. Together, we can make your therapeutic journey what you need it to be.

¡Hola!

My Role as a Therapist

As a therapist, my role is to help you. Truly, you are the one and only person that has lived your life. You know what you have been through and what has challenged you the most. My job is not to try to pretend like I know what you have gone through. My role is to help you process those difficult moments. To help you (re)gain power over the events in life that have caused such distress. Together, you and I have the opportunity to heal some of those wounds and overcome some of those obstacles that have stood in your way for far too long.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Oh my goodness! This question hurts a little because it is the complete opposite. As humans, we are designed to interact with others, to communicate. Through therapy, you get to share YOUR story. You are strong for being able to tell it and have courage to confront it. The client-therapeutic alliance is such a strong force that allows clients to be vulnerable and that vulnerability is not weakness!
In therapy, you get to work towards becoming the person you want to be. You get to challenge the nay-sayers, the abusers, the life-changing events, and regain your own autonomy. In addition, therapy can be a great place to vent, process, or just check-in with your mental health; either way, I'm here for it!
