My Approach to Helping

I believe that the healing process involves a delicate balance of both learning and unlearning; unlearning the maladaptive coping mechanisms and ways of thinking about ourselves and others we have developed over time, while simultaneously learning new ways of coping and relating in order to unearth the person and relationships underneath the hardened layers of self-preservation. I firmly believe my clients to be the experts on their own lives and that we are all simply doing the best we can with what we have been taught at any given moment. I work with families, teens, children, couples, and individuals with openness, authenticity, and a love of human nature in all its light and darkness. I am passionate about body positivity and health at every size movement and continue to receive training in the treatment of eating struggles and intuitive eating.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love getting the opportunity to be with you on whatever journey it is you are seeking support on. I believe the most healing aspect of therapy is the relationship between counselor and client, and it is a gift to show up authentically to each of these unique relationships.

Groups I Work With

I work with kids, teens, adults, families, and couples. I did my field experience at Lifeworks here in Austin and worked with a variety of different age groups. I am strengths-based, trauma-informed, and I conceptualize cases through the lens of feminist therapy and relational-cultural therapy. I am passionate about working with body image from a The Health at Every Size® perspective and am currently receiving more training in working with eating disorders as well as working to get my certification as an intuitive eating counselor. I also really enjoy working with families from a systemic framework and have experience working with life transitions, depression, anxiety, reunification, and substance abuse.
