My Approach to Helping
Anxiety and depression are commonly associated with a negative view of yourself. Focusing on personal weaknesses and failures keeps people stuck in unhappy relationships, abusive situations, dead-end jobs, family conflicts, feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.
My approach to therapy is based on the belief that people who seek therapy already have internal strengths-some misused or as yet to be discovered.
I draw on 30+ years of using various modalities (psychodynamic, CBT, ACT, Humanist and Positive Psychology) to develop a treatment that suits the individual's personality and needs.
I help people by increasing self-awareness, identifying strengths and developing a more realistic and positive view of themselves which ultimately leads to greater confidence and improved ability to deal with difficult challenges.
