My Approach to Helping
Pillars of Hope Counseling is about courage, trust, and strength. It takes courage to recognize the need or desire for help. Trust to explore a variety of perspectives and opportunities. Strength to rise above tough challenges. These are the pillars we all possess but often don’t see in ourselves. My approach is based on 3 C's: compassion, collaboration, and creativity. Individualized treatment is provided based on each person or couples' need. Interventions include recognizing unhealthy thinking patterns, reframing self-limiting talk, developing behavioral and emotional coping cards, utilizing principles of mindfulness and guided imagery exercises to reduce anxious feelings. The goal is to empower you in every session.
Couples often find it difficult to trust their partners after a rupture has occurred. Will spend time repairing wounds while creating a deeper emotional bond. Will explore communication styles and learn how to listen for our partner's messages. Will find ways to put intimacy and passion back in the relationship. Along the way, I will provide encouragement, empathy, and exploration.
